Not sure if I'd go with the sage, but red wing moc toes are some of the best boots anywhere.
Thorogood makes essentially the same boot... same leather, same style, same vibram sole, for about half that if the color isn't the main draw. I think they do black and that tobacco reddish-orange(little biased because I have a pair).
The big seller for me is Red Wing's policy where you can send your boots in for service. Gorilla has the same soles as well but no service policy. When the soles wear out before the leather they're scrapped, when Red Wings can be given new life.
