Triumph Bonneville
Here's the latest custom to roll out of Deus, and probably one of my most favorites in a long time. I caught a glimpse of this in the workshop while I was visiting their Venice Beach outfit last month.
What's hard to ignore is the STRIKING similarity to The Tarantula's Smooth Criminal Honda CB350F, which was built over a year ago.
I didn't expect that from Deus, the smooth criminal is one of tarantulas' best I think and the better of the two here, although I do like that seat on the bonneville.
ReplyDeleteKnowing and admiring the smooth criminal for a while just makes the Deus bike seem lazy. It's one thing for a person in their garage to make similar design choices, but this is too derivative and not as complete or well done. Many of the ideas seem tacked on, like the proportions of the rear and the placement of the saddlebags, though like TC I think the seat is improved.
