DAILY INSPIRATION: Triton Exhaust

Triton Exhaust

Southsiders MC built this bike for Bonneville Speed Week.
Can't wait to see it in person.

  1. Hey man,
again, nice blog and great daily inspirations.

Question about this exhaust--Is that a heat guard around the pipes right below the seat?
do you know much about these? Do they work well, or only if you're wearing very thick jeans? I'm thinking about brining my pipes up on my CX500, but don't want to put myself or my passenger in a place where we'd end up with scalded legs.
    Thanks

    1. Hey Blivy,

Yes, it's a heat shield. Pipes tucked up like that are "scrambler" style. The pipes are tucked higher to provide more cornering clearance. They usually require a heat shield of some sort as I'm sure you can imagine. I've actually never ridden a bike with scrambler pipes but if you look at something like the old Honda CL models, they came with factory heat shields. I'd imagine they're purposeful if Honda was putting them on their bikes.
