A MERRY XMAS: Project CX Gets 3rd Place on BikeEXIF!


BikeEXIF has just released it's Top 10 list of most popular bikes over the past six months, and Project CX has gotten 3rd place! What a wonderful addition to an already fulfilling Christmas morning.

I've been overwhelmed with the amount of positive feedback the bike has recieved. Thank you to everyone out there for your praise and support.

    If you mean the handlebars themselves - no, they're referred to as "clubman" bars.

    If you're referring to the sweet Clip Art santa hat bars... yes.

      Great job on your bike! Exactly which clubman handlebars did you use? There's quite a few different bends. I'm thinking about your style for my build.

    This bike is awesome! Specially that's your first bike! Like the coloring.

    David, do you maybe know if there are some differences in the frame between '81 CX 500 (standard) and CX500 C? Or it's the same and just "equipment" is different.

    Continuing to appreciate this bike, but have a couple of questions if you could help out: it said before you lowered the front AND back by 1". How did you lower the back end?? With stiffer shocks how's the ride when two-up?

      The rear shocks are about an 1" shorter eye-to-eye.

      I was thinking about that but was advised it might bottom out when riding with someone on the back... issues?

      The shocks I have on there now are very stiff and have about an inch of adjustable pre-load. The seat modification also cut down my clearance by about an inch and I still never bottom out even with a passenger.

      That being said. Those shocks are uncomfortably stiff. I'm sure there's a happy medium.
