I spent a good amount of time tonight hashing out the design direction for the SR250 build.
I'm very comfortable with where it's at now, but it's still a 20ft. view.
Over the next few weeks I'll be refining down the minor details. Until I'm able to get some mechanical process shots up, here's a bit of a teaser.
I'm digging the color scheme. Are you thinking about leather inserts on the tank for grip? It might be cool to incorporate one of those simple, cylinder shaped, bags that you see on the triple clamps or over the rear tire. Then she could throw a scarf or her wallet/purse in there. That's always something Kristen has to contend with. You could do like a leather strap over the tank to affix a bag you made too.
ReplyDeleteDelicious... I can't wait to see what you come up with. I am also crazy interested to see if you met your project/budget goals on the CX500... :)
ReplyDeleteI decided I wanted a bike that was more reliable then what $1000 could get me, so I threw out that salary cap half way through the build.
DeleteI really like the white and leather. It gives a clean classy look which contrast perfectly with the inherent badassness of being a riding machine.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm working on a build now. Do you think cork would work for the seat?
Thanks for the feedback Mike. I've never worked with cork, but I would image it would not hold up very well in wet weather.
DeleteThere are some bicycle grips that are cork. Maybe talk to some people running those.
